[Webinar] Sustainable Water Management for Green Urban Farming
Singapore Water Association and Republic Polytechnic are co-organising an informative Webinar Sustainable Water Management for Green Urban Farming on Tuesday, 31st August @ 3.00pm – 4.00pm(SGT).
Vertical farming is a kind of modern farming to produce 10 times more than traditional farming with less labour-intensive. So, it opens new opportunities for urban areas owing to limited space for food production, like Singapore towards achieving its ambitious “30 by 30” goal to produce 30 per cent of nutritional needs locally by 2030. Nevertheless, water consumption is remaining the major challenge for modern vertical farming. In this talk, we will share some aspects of sustainable water management for urban agriculture.
Webinar Outline:
The global urban population is rapidly growing, and so is the demand for water and food. Agriculture is responsible for 70% of worldwide water use. Despite the challenges of land and water scarcities, Singapore is at the global forefront of vertical farming innovation with more R&D investment.
Through this webinar, we will be sharing on:
- control water management for better urban agricultural
- grow food with less water
- latest technologies on vertical farming
- boost Singapore’s food resilience
