The SWA Coastal Protection Chapter was officially established on Thursday, 20th June 2024 during SIWW2024 and led by Chair, Mr James Lam and Vice-Chair, Ms Pritha Hariram to address the increasing challenges posed by rising sea levels, climate change, and coastal erosion. Its main purpose is to focus on solutions for safeguarding Singapore’s coastal areas and assets through sustainable protection strategies.
This chapter promotes knowledge-sharing and collaboration among industry professionals, government agencies, and academia, supporting innovations in coastal defense technologies, infrastructure design, and environmental management.
