Singapore Water Association will be organising a 2-day course, AI for Coastal Strategies on 21 & 22 March 2024.
Course Objectives
The 2 days session proposes a workflow to aid the exploration of new hybrid infrastructures within our coast. The emphasis will be on developing the participants.
capacity to visualise – hence also to re-think and communicate such new possibilities, through the use of AI. The workshop will be divided into 3 essential blocks: research, acquisition of software tools and production of visuals for communication purposes.
- To re-think the meaning of coastal resilience
- To explore new modes of designing in coastal areas
- To re-imagine infrastructure role in the coasts
Target Audience
Engineers, architects and all water-related, forward-looking industries who believe in
the power of tech + design and want to explore new methods to think of ‘infrastructures’ in coastal conditions in Singapore.
This workshop is designed for individuals without prior AI experience, requiring only basic comfort with computers. While early-career entrants are particularly encouraged to participate, there are no restrictions on the level of professional
experience.
Learning Outcomes
- Gain proficiency in utilizing accessible AI tools for the swift development of coastal protection strategies.
- Enhance their strategic planning skills by refining and optimizing their devised coastal protection strategies.
- Acquire the ability to generate visually compelling representations that facilitate graphical exploration of their refined strategies.

Award of Certificate
1. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who meet the 75% attendance.
2. This course is qualified for PDUs by PEB.
