15th Anniversary Gala Dinner
“Commemorating 15 years of milestone”
Singapore Water Association (SWA) organised its 15th Anniversary Gala Dinner on 17 January 2020 Friday at Conrad Centennial Singapore Ballroom Lvl 2 to commemorate, appreciate and celebrate the growth of SWA with our members and partners.
The Guest-of-Honour for the evening was Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for the Environment and Water Resources. Other guests were key stakeholders of PUB, Enterprise Singapore, EDB and representatives from foreign embassy and trade centres.
Dinner commenced with a cocktail reception from 6:30pm with an opening LED Twirl performance and ends at 10:00pm.
SMS Dr Amy Khor delivered her keynote address and presented welcome certificates to the 2020-2022 Young Water Professionals Committee. These bright talents will help bring SWA and the water industry as a whole to new heights. SWA Young Water Professionals (YWP) was founded in 2015 and aims to support efforts by SWA, by profiling and promoting the water industry as a viable and fulfilling career option to graduates and young professionals. This is achieved through maintaining strong partnerships with young water professionals from SWA member companies, via get-together dinners, fireside chats with established professionals within the water industry, indoor and outdoor group activities. In addition, SWA YWP actively reaches out to institutes of higher learning (IHLs) to conduct career talks and networking sessions, so as to promote students’ interest in the water industry.
The inaugural MOU signing ceremony with four prestigious foreign trade centres, namely The High Commission of Canada, The Singapore-German Chamber of Industry, The Taiwan External Trade Development Council and The U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration inked our common goal in creating viable and dynamic commercial exchanges between SWA members and various foreign companies and government agencies for the new year 2020 and more magnificent years to come. B2B business matching seminars and overseas missions are some of the collaboration plans underway in 2020 to synchronise our cross-country collaborations.
SWA being a non-profit organisation supported the local young talents in their inspiring dream’s pursuance. Dancescape Singapore (a non-profit dance troupe) and Ms Adelyn Koh (a local teen singer who was born with rare eye disease “Peter Anomaly”) performed “Realm of Hoop” and four song pieces respectively. We hope that this dinner was meaningful to create mesmerising moments for our past 15 years of milestones celebration and also to provide a platform for these youths to showcase their talents.
